Bro: LOL. Why you re-watching Naruto?

Me: On Monday, Avatar got featured on Fandom Wank again. In desperation to distract myself from the mess, I went and updated myself on Naruto and found out that Beware Naruto Spoilers and RamblingsCollapse ) But let's just wait until he's older, like when he's legal. Cause you know, the main kid characters in that series were introduced when they were 12. ... (suddenly wails) Why do they have to hate on characters who threaten their ship?!

Bro: Remember when you played World of Warcraft? Remember the idiots who will criticize your gear and the way you play?

Me: (sighs cause remembers too well)

Bro: There will always be people who get off being negative and hateful on whatever isn't their thing or makes them feel inferior. Heck. There are actually people who hate Jiraiya. How can anyone hate on Jiraiya?

Me: Jiraiya is cool.

Bro: Damn right he is.

Subject:US Election 2008 remind me of Shipping Wars
Time:1:57 pm.
Mood: full.
I honestly think Obama is the more capable candidate, and... he's not a terrorist, for heaven's sake.

Maybe it's because I wasn't yet crazy shipper-scarred during the previous US Elections, but the current US Elections kept on reminding me of ship-related wankage. Heck, when I saw on CNN a mostly red and blue map of which the US battleground or swing states were marked yellow - I thought - Lol, Katara and Zuko are fighting over Aang. LOL!

And just omfg at the Muslim bashing.

I'm a Christian (Roman Catholic, to be precise) and my reaction to the Christians a-bashing Muslims can be summed up in the following statement:

"STOP MAKING MY RELIGION SHIP LOOK BAD!"

For the past week or so I've been playing Atlantica (playatlantica.com). My brothers got me hooked into it and hey - I'm like open to anything that can distract me from Avatar stuff.

Then, last night - I realized, to my absolute consternation, that I was (again) spending far more time arranging virtual doo-hickeys in my characters' bags than actually slaying pixels. Heck, I put more thought into the process of organizing pixels than even real-in-life belongings.

I certainly don't have this much trouble even organizing emails and electronic documents in general.

I'm not certain if it's the trend for most virtual worlds/universes to have limited storage for their players, but it's certainly the case for World of Warcraft and Atlantica. In the former, the bigger the bag, the more expensive it is. Bank slots and Guild Bank tabs also get progressively more expensive. It's even worse in Atlantica, banks actually charge players to keep their money. And you've got to get licenses (that expire) in order to have more bag space and even to keep more characters. O.M.G.

I stopped playing World of Warcraft because of this very issue. And sorry, Atlantica, I really like you, but goddamit - it's just NUTS for virtual fantasy worlds to have serious "lack of space" issues.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherlock_Holmes_(2010_film)

Robert Downey, Jr. as Sherlock Holmes + Jude Law as Dr. John Watson = more Holmes/Watson fanstuff (hopefully)

Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler, a femme fatale from New Jersey who once outwitted Holmes, leaving him slightly lovestruck.

I'll be -very- happy with AdlerxHolmes fanstuff as well.

Kelly Reilly as Mary Morstan. Watson wishes to settle down with her, causing a conflict with Holmes. === (snickers)

Me: Convince me to do teeny weeny favor.

Bro #2: It's teeny weeny favor and I'm your brother.

Me: (is not convinced)

Bro #2: This is gonna be tough.

Me: (still not convinced)

Bro #2: Uhm... Avatar pwns?

Me: Okay.

There are actually people who are still not convinced that Katara does love romantic-wise Aang.

---

(practical side): Ignore them. If you can ignore people who insist that JK Rowling should have lost the trial and people who still thinks the world is flat, you can ignore those.

(stupid side): BUT-

(pside): Just I.G.N.O.R.E.

(sside): ... (wavers)

(pside): Mike and Bryan wouldn't want their sane fans wasting time on insane fans.

(sside): ... Really?

Heroes S3 ep 1 made me go O_o.

House S5 ep 1 made me go HEE.

Stargate Atlantis S4 ep 1-2 made me tired.

Finally seeing the last two episodes of Legend of the Dragon Kings made me go... ... .. .

(sighs) I'm considering marathon-watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer (which I never got into) or just re-watch Macgyver episodes. Or mebbe just try to catch up on Code Geass - I'm like 4-5 episodes behind... Catch up on Naruto, maybe...

Or maybe I should just force myself to go play World of Warcraft.

T-T I just want to stop thinking about Avatar.

Dear inner!MikeandBryan fan,

Please PLEASE for sanity's sake, stop being -so- over-protective of Mike and Bryan. WTF are you arguing with what seems to be a Kataanger, who thinks there should have been more Kataang in the finale??? Correction, it wasn't a Kataanger.

No Love,
Frazzled at self!Me

Jesus Christ's sake. It's one thing to (raise brows, shake head, try not to laugh) at disappointed shippers whose ships got relegated to Davey Jones' Locker. It's quite another thing to actually feel "What? You're still NOT happy?!" at still-not-satisfied!shippers whose ships so clearly won the war AND with obvious creator approval to boot.

Plus, I'm also kicking myself for even being concerned about such frivolities!!! Why am even letting myself make their issues a concern of mine?! Why, oh Lord, am I letting their dissatisfaction taint my satisfaction?! Their problem = NOT my problem.

Mike, Bryan and the Avastaff made, imho, the best animation series I've seen to date. But instead of being so over-protective of them and their show, I should be pissed as heck that they made such as kick-ass show I became a "Misplaced Champion" ala Fan Dumb.

Oh God, I have serious over-protective over Bryke issues.

The commercial/promo for Red Alert 3 is also AWESOME. EEP. I don't play RTS (real-time strategy) games even a little, but I love this promo.

Last night, I found out that George Takei (Star Trek's Mr. Sulu) is gay. Currently, I am 50% delighted shocked about it and 50% upset shocked that I only found out about it now. Am definitely not a proper Trekkie or Trekker. Too noob when it comes to Star Trek.

---

I also found out about:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derivative_(finance)

And went face-palm, going no wonder supposedly solid financial institutions (Lehman Brothers, Merryl Lynch, etc.) are in such trouble right now. Warren Buffet, -the- Warren Buffet, actually referred to them as 'financial weapons of mass destruction'.

(note to self) Stay far far far away from investments that involve derivatives.

---

Last but never the least... Mike and Bryan are in danger of making me fall in love with them all over again. They should stop being so awesome; I'm still trying (and failing very miserably) to get over them, goddamit. Eep. So this is what it feels like to be a rabid!fangirl. !!!

Possibly -the- biggest fandom-related news at this time is about JK Rowling winning a case versus a HP fan (and I use the term very loosely) who wanted to publish a HP reference book which is more than 90% word-for-word copied from the Harry Potter series.

It was clearly blatant plagiarism. I am shocked that there's actual debate about whether or not this is 'fair use'.

And, goddamit, I'm having impulses to actively defend Rowling's side and I'm not a die-hard HP fan. I'm already having enough issues being a die-hard!Mike & Bryan fan.

(s.i.g.h.s.) I gotta keep on reminding myself that:

1. The best way to not change a person's mind is to tell them to change their mind. Best to let them, on their own, change their own mind.

2. There are a LOT of other things way more fun to do out there than being even remotely concerned about people who you think are wrong. Life is too short for even a second to be wasted on whom you consider are nuts.

3. Making money is fun and useful and usually not a waste of time. Spending it is also fun. Shopping > Arguing on the Internet.
